For your next morning pick-me-up, there's a new option in the Mayfair neighborhood's Copper Door Coffee Roasters, which opened in mid-September. Owner Hannah Ulbrich originally purchased the concept as a wholesale roasting operation, and with the help of a Kickstarter campaign was able to secure the brick-and-mortar location.
In addition to typical offerings like coffee, cappuccino, and espresso, the shop also sells coffee beans by the pound. Ulbrich selects raw beans from all over the world and then fresh-roasts them in small batches utilizing local wind power. Flavors like light-roast Tanzania peaberry and the medium/dark-roast Brazilian can be purchased onsite or online. The cafe also offers breakfast sandwiches and baked goods—from muffins to goat cheese tarts—and doughnuts from vendors like Glazed and Confuzed on Sundays.
Copper Door Coffee is located at 932 Jersey Street and is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
