Pizza Pedal'r has cruised into the burgeoning Prospect neighborhood, settling in among neighbors like Japanese eatery Tokio and Santiago's latest outpost. Owner Rick Marion's Winter Park-based pizza spot officially started welcoming diners last Monday, starting off with a quiet soft opening.
Though the mountain bicycling theme has carried over, this second location is larger than the original, allowing for a bigger menu selection including pasta and a wider variety of salads. Pies are available in three different sizes or by the slice—all made fresh to order—with gluten-free crust as an option. The base for the toppings is a New York-style thin crust, while the end crust is braided, forming a knot that goes well dipped in honey.
New Belgium brews are prevalent, tying into the cycling motif. Three beers rotate on tap, with more in bottles like New Belgium Snapshot and Big Sky Brewing's Moose Drool brown ale, and there's also a full liquor license.
The space's lodge-like decor is interspersed with bike wheels and gears for light fixtures. An upstairs lounge area is outfitted with sofas, which provides a casual spot to enjoy combos like the Apex—Canadian bacon, pineapple, and green pepper on red sauce—or build your own.
Those living in the surrounding neighborhood are entitled to a discount, which along with on-foot delivery service will be put into place soon. Pizza Pedal'r is located at 2907 Huron Street and is open daily at 11 a.m., with variable closing times.
