This week, The New York Times revealed its United States of Thanksgiving, a feature in which one recipe eliciting the spirit of each state was included. Representing Colorado, was Denver chef Alexander Figura of Lower 48 Kitchen. Questions arose around the effects legal marijuana and its ensuing munchies on our local Thanksgiving crowds. Whether snacking because it's the holiday or because you're taking advantage of some of Colorado's laws, Figura's Pecan Pie Bites with Gravy hit the sweet and savory spot that's sure to satisfy eaters nationwide.

In anticipation of the holidays, superstar Colorado chef Jennifer Jasinski shared with the readers of Food & Wine Magazine her Merguez-Spiced Colorado Lamb and Grapefruit and Escarole Salad. The magazine's feature on 72 all-star holiday recipes encouraged readers to step out of their comfort zones with new takes on classic holiday dishes, and what better way to do this than with a taste of amazing Colorado lamb?
