Gearing up for its upcoming opening is Will Call, which will debut in RiNo's Industry development by the first week of December. The neighborhood bar and tavern, part of the Little Pub Company, is filling a space that used to serve as the customer "will call" office of an industrial manufacturing company, which is where the name came from.
Under the ownership of Mark Berzins and leadership of manager Michelle Nichols, Will Call looks to serve not only the neighboring office workers of Industry, but also residents of the area and those in the service industry coming off shifts at establishments in the Source and TAXI.
And though the menu will offer tavern-style favorites such as burgers and salads, the main focus is on a variety of Venezuelan arepas. The notion originated with a road trip Berzins took with his oldest daughter on the way to college, with a stop in Connecticut. There, he and his family ate at a luncheria featuring Venezuelan fare, and he brought the idea home with him for the concept in progress.
Also, look for rotisserie meat skewers, which can be added to salads, as well as a Venezuelan stew. There will be a small specialized cocktail list, and a variety of fresh-pressed juices. The beer and spirits have a Colorado focus, but the bar stock will start off small so patrons can make requests for specific items to carry.
The industrial theme carries through with neon shipping and receiving signs in the transformed space, designed by Berzins' father, Vilis, who has worked with several Denver restaurants. Booths surround the perimeter, with long community tables and bars filling in the middle. Soon the front, facing Brighton Boulevard, will feature large glass doors that can open and create an indoor/outdoor vibe in conjunction with the patio, which will be a spot to warm up by the large fire pits.
Will Call is located at 3043 Brighton Boulevard and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., offering food until late.
