Maria Empanada's Liquor License Comes Through

After re-opening in a larger location this spring, the Argentine cafe and bakery can now offer adult beverages.

It's hard not to associate Argentina with wine—particularly the Malbec varietal—so it makes sense that Maria Empanada owner Lorena Cantarovici would want to complement the cuisine at her South Broadway spot with some vino.

That option is now a reality with the recent approval of a license to serve wine and beer. Maria Empanada has already been bringing the taste of Buenos Aires with its selection of empanadas, tartas, Spanish tortillas, and desserts; sipping a glass of red wine too can only complete the experience.

The Argentine cafe and bakery has been a reliable place to catch a soccer match on TV, but live music is also set to make its mark. To celebrate the additions, this Saturday, November 22, don't miss a flamenco guitar master and Argentine folklore group, who will each perform starting at 5:30 p.m.
