Ownership has changed hands for the Tasterie food truck, with chef Tim Payne acquiring the business that has operated out of Boulder for the last four years. Payne has served as chef de cuisine at Z Cuisine since last March, and prior to that did a stint at now-shuttered Row 14 after closing his restaurant, Terroir, in Longmont.
Payne's last day at the LoHi French spot is this Saturday, after which his attention will turn to the mobile eatery. While the Tasterie's name will remain, Payne has plans to evolve the menu to feature local, organic, and sustainable food. The truck previously spent little time in Denver, but he'd like to schedule stops here once or twice a week starting in the second half of December and into next year.
Additionally, Payne has been running an underground culinary speakeasy called Feast Supper Club. The next intimate, pop-up style dinner will be on Saturday, December 6 at the Settembre Cellars tasting room in north Boulder. The event starts at 7 p.m. and features four courses paired with wines, ranging from sweet potato bisque and Chardonnay, to smoked pork tenderloin matched with Sangiovese. The price is $85 before tax and gratuity, and reservations can be made here.
