Mile High entrepreneur Heather Alcott was living in Asia when she stumbled across the luxurious Japanese dessert, called Baum Cake. Two years and countless hurdles later, Alcott's Glaze Baum Cake Shoppe has successfully delivered Denverites a taste of the indulgence she experienced a world away.
But the scope of Alcott's success has not been limited to Denver, or even Colorado. The Cooking Channel's insider peek into up-and-coming dessert techniques across the U.S., Unique Sweets, recently featured Glaze on its episode entitled "Colorado Sweets." The episode is set to stream semi-regularly through the end of December. See Glaze's update for a list of complete showtimes.
Glaze's cakes range from the Original Baum, with premium vanilla enhanced with Cointreau in a soft, buttery cake, to the Chocolate Danke Baum, stacked high with three rings of Chocolate Baum Cake dipped in Belgian chocolate. A list of Glaze's offerings can be found here, though those interested are encouraged to call the restaurant at 720.387.7890 for an enhanced list of up-to-date offerings.
