These Are The Best Culinary Events in December

TASTE OF THE ROCKIES 2.0

When: December 2 at 7 p.m.
Where: Harman's Eat and Drink, 2900 E 2nd Avenue
What: In October, the team at Harman's hit the road with their favorite dishes to share a Taste of the Rockies at the James Beard House in New York. They couldn't wait to share the same joy with us here in Denver, so a re-creation of the six-course meal was obligatory. Dishes featured include maple glazed pork belly and caramelized brioche with Colorado cherries.

WYNKOOP BREWING'S PARADE OF DARKS
When: December 6 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: The Bindery on Blake, 2901 Blake St., Denver
What: Now a holiday tradition, Wynkoop Brewing Company's Parade of Darks returns in its festive showcase of countless beers from dozens of local breweries, including Avery and Odell. This parade focuses specifically on beers in the amber and opaquecategories, so attendees will enjoy many seasonal favorites. All profits will once again benefit Metro CareRing, Denver's leading hunger-relief organization.

FEAST SUPPER CLUB & SETTEMBRE CELLARS PAIRING DINNER

When: December 6 at 7 p.m.
Where: Settembre Cellars, 1501 Lee Hill Dr. #16, Boulder
What: Chef Tim Payne has been meandering about the scene in Denver, finally settling on Feast Supper Club (and The Tasterie Food Truck). Payne and his team will be hosted by Settembre Cellars and paired with their wines during this four-course pairing dinner, featuring a lightly smoked pork tenderloin with pork shoulder confit, rhutabega, celery root, and cherry infused red wine sauce as the main event.

THE OXFORD HOTEL DOLLS' TEA PARTY
When: December 7 at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., or 3:30 p.m.
Where: The Oxford Hotel, 1600 17th Street, Denver
What: The third annual seating of The Oxford Hotel's holiday celebration with light snacks, tea and hot chocolate for kids, even encouraging the kids to bring along their favorite doll. Three separate seating opportunities are available for this event. The Arvada Center Dance Theater will be the source of entertainment, performing Aurora's Birthday Party and then taking time to meet and take complimentary photos with other children.

SUSHI DEN & KAZU OBA'S DENSHOW
When: December 7 through 24; Monday through Friday 6 to 11 p.m.,Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: 1501 S Pearl St., Denver
What: DenShow is back again this year! Hosted by Sushi Den across the street at the former Ototo Restaurant, Kazu Oba will present weekend pottery demos during DenShow. The workshops during DenShow are meant to show case the relationship between ceramics and presentation, as exemplified by Sushi Den.

FRASCA'S WHITE TRUFFLE & BAROLO DINNER
When: Monday and Tuesday, December 8 and 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Frasca Food and Wine, 1738 Pearl St., Boulder
What: This eighth annual, two night event is sure to wow. White truffle will be the highlight of these dishes, to constitute a five-course meal paired with Barolo wines brought by guest winemaker Elisa Scavino. Guest chef Ryan Hardy and guest Sommelier Robert Bohr of NYC's Charlie Bird will also make appearances alongside Frasca's Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson and Bobby Stuckey, all to collaborate on an inspired evening of extravagant food and wine.

THE BROADMOOR'S 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
When: December 12 through 23, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Where: The Remington Room at The Broadmoor, 1 Lake Ave., Colorado Springs
What: The enchanting Colorado Springs property will offer hour-long interactive demonstrations including classes on classic French cooking, how to make donuts, and wine tasting to name only a few.

DENVER BEER FESTIVUS
When: Saturday, December 13 at 3 p.m.

Where: The McNichols Building, 144 W Colfax, Denver
What: For the third year in a row, the "beer festival for the rest of us" is here to unite Denver breweries old and new. Featuring 35+ local brewers, a rockin' food court (not included in ticket price), and the crowd-pleasing photo booth, this year's Festivus will be even better than years' prior.
