Boxing Day Celebration; Great Brunch Options

UPTOWN - Celebrate Boxing Day? If you do, great! If not, maybe this is the year to start. Argyll Whisky Beer is putting together a traditional Boxing Day menu to be served December 26. For $29.50, Argyll's traditional Boxing Day menu features Mulligatawny soup, smoked salmon with butter and pickle toasts, Welsh Rarebit, warm cheese and beer dip, as well as shepherd's pie, lamb and porter stew with cheddar mash and roasted pork with Colcannon mash. Customary British Boxing Day desserts, including Sticky Toffee Pudding and Whisky Cake, round out the meal. [Eaterwire]

HIGHLAND - Gaetano's, the old school italian restaurant on 38th Avenue, offers brunch specials on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are bottomless sangria, mimosas, and "a mile long Bloody Mary bar." The food menu includes chicken and waffles, eggs carbonara, and blueberry ricotta pancakes. Pro tip: Diners can get a free tour of the basement...just ask!

CENTENNIAL- ViewHouse Centennial's new Buffet Brunch spread is served up every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The buffet spread includes chilled seafood, made-to-order omelets, a waffle station, pancake bar, meat carving stations, desserts, and more.
