Strong, Interesting, Open To Interpretation: Atticus Debuts In The DU Hood

Atticus, the new neighborhood restaurant at 1125 E. Evans Avenue, is now open, with a hearty winter menu focused on comfort food, and fresh cocktails.

Pour Kids and Table 6 restaurant have joined forces to create Table to Tavern, a restaurant group encompassing Boone's Tavern, Handlebar Tavern, Table 6, and now, Atticus. Much like its new sister restaurants, Atticus will be a local hangout specializing in Colorado-made beer and spirits. They also plan to make cocktails with Gypsy Juice, which is launching its debut along with Atticus.

Atticus will serve a continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Breakfast, with pastries, granola, and the like is available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rest of the menu designed by executive chef Robert Alfaro is game-heavy with lamb, quail, and boar chili. There is also a spaetzle of the day. Atticus opens every day at 7 a.m., stays open until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closes at 2 p.m. for special events and such on Sunday evenings.

The design at Atticus is an eclectic one— the maps, paintings, and objects used are all salvaged items found in antique shops and local stores.

"Atticus" nods to Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mocking Bird; there's also a butterfly called the Atticus. The restaurant is named to be strong, interesting, and open to interpretation.
