If there is one thing stopping deep sadness from overwhelming those fond of Glaze Baum Cakes is that the bakery will be still be open until March 1st. After that, the one year old Congress Park sweet shop will turn off its famous Red Dragon oven and close its doors.

The announcement of the closure came last night through Facebook. Following the announcement, fifty-eight comments and counting were posted decrying the premature shutter of an innovative bakery that brought to Denver the German-born Baum cake which became popular in Japan.

It is with both sadness and gratitude we inform you that Glaze will be closing its doors on Saturday, March 1.

We would like to thank all of our amazing, loyal, and enthusiastic customers for your continued support. The past year has been, above all else, an incredibly fun experience and we have you to thank for that. Although there are no current plans for reopening, we will be sure to announce if anything changes.

Glaze will be open regular store hours (9-6 Tu-Sat; 10-5 Sun) until the end of day March 1, as well as online at http://www.thebaumcakeshoppe.com/.

A thousand times over, Danke, Arigato, and Thank You.
