Sneak Peek: The Kitchen Next Door Ready to Open in Glendale at City Set

On Wednesday, the Kitchen Next Door will open in Glendale in the City Set development. Located at 658 South Colorado Boulevard, this second outpost of the Boulder-born Next Door will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, opening its doors starting at 11 a.m.

Designed by Semple Brown, the 3,800 square-foot restaurant accommodates up to 80 guests inside. Interior design details include warm wood floors, tiled walls and soft lighting, bar-height community table seating as well as boots and benches that accent the space with a speckle of green. A lush but intimate rooftop garden and patio with views of the Rocky Mountain Front Range will offer additional dining and gathering space up to 50 guests.

The extensive menu includes everything from sides and snacks like the organic cumin carrots and marinated beans to sandwiches like the slow roasted pork. There are soups and salads and ice cream sandwiches and kegged cocktails to be discovered. A highlight of the menu is the Learning Garden Kale Salad. $2 from every salad sold will benefit The Kitchen Community, our non-profit organization that plants Learning Gardens in local Glendale and nearby schools.

Late spring/early summer, a third location of the Kitchen will open in Fort Collins at 100 N. College Avenue. The expansion of the Kitchen empire, owned by Hugo Matheson and Kimbal Musk, will continue with the opening of Next Door at Union Station in June and then a fourth iteration of the Kitchen in Chicago's River North neighborhood.
