Pastry chef Jodi Polson, formerly of Glaze Baum Cakes that will close on March 1, is headed to a new bakery: Leaf & Crumb. Founded by Jennifer Akina in 2012, the bakery specializes in tea-infusesd wedding cakes and cupcakes.
"They won best cupcake in 5280 last spring and are getting some pretty good recognition for their wedding cake designs," says Polson. "I'm pretty excited to join their team!"
Leaf & Crumb offers flavors like sweet Asian pear tea cake with moscato buttercream, earl grey tea cake with vanilla bean cream cheese icing, and lavender orange tea cake with orange zest buttercream, among many other flavors. The shop also offers several sizes of cupcakes, and doubles as a tea house. It's open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
