Wine Dinners; Bloody Butchery Classes; Icelandic Journeys

CASTLE PINES— Join Blackbelly Catering and Blanchard Family Wines on Saturday, February 8 for a wine tasting reception at 6:30 p.m. The event—hosted by wine blogger Roger Beery—will take place at Beery's home and benefit the Jessica Redfield Foundation, which was created in memory of an Aurora theater shooting victim, and funds scholarships for aspiring sports journalists. BOULDER—Frasca Food and Wine's Monday night wine dinner series on February 10 will bring together wines from two different producers and regions. Claudio Latagliata of the winery Principe Pallvicini and San Leonardo's Anselmo Gonzaga will be on hand. This weekly series is co-hosted by master sommelier Bobby Stuckey, who works the floor and interacts with guests, and chef/co-owner Lachlan Mackinnon Patterson, who creates a four-course seasonal menu. LOHI— Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe and the Truffle Table are teaming up for My Bloody Valentine, a butchering demonstration and happy hour on Saturday, February 15 at 4 p.m. During the one-hour show at the Truffle Table, attendees will learn about the various parts of a pig and how to butcher one. LODO— Tom Coohill, chef owner of French-influenced restaurant Coohills, has been selected as one of 13 guest chefs from around the world to compete in Iceland's Food and Fun Festival in Reykjavik from Wednesday, February 26 to to Sunday, March 2.
