Shaken, Drafted and Punched Pops Up This Weekend

Closing out the final days of DSTILL, the second annual event that celebrates American craft spirits and cocktails, Shaken, Drafted and Punched will pop up at the Source (3350 Brighton Boulevard) in the center area bar space. The event is spotlighting spirits from Downslope Distilling from Friday March 14 through Sunday March 16.

Downslope's bartender extraordinaire Anthony Giovanni steps behind the bar with a new menu each night curated in collaboration with McLain Hedges of the Proper Pour. During the three day event, the bartenders will serve Shaken drinks on Friday, Drafted ones on Saturday, and Punches on Sunday. Menus have been posted on the event's Facebook page with more on the way.

Through the day, the pop-up bar will also provide classes on spirits, history of gin (Ould Tom), rums, whiskies, and vodkas of all types. Collaborators include Industry Denver, Pressery, The Real Dill, Teakoe & Company, and more. The Pressery Juicebar will open at 11 a.m. daily.

The DSTILL festivities kicked off yesterday. For the next two days, the event features a series of seminars focusing on the craft of distilling. On Thursday, March 13, from 7 to 10 p.m., the signature Showcase, showcasing fifty American craft spirit producers from across the country (Death's Door Spirits, Templeton Rye, St George Spirits, Peak Spirits, and Rogue Spirits & Ales, among others), will take over the McNichols Civic Center Building. Guests will be able to sample spirits and crafted cocktails created by the talented mixologists from the Colorado Bartenders Guild.
