D Bar To Get New Digs, Stays True To Uptown

Tomorrow is the last day of service at D Bar Denver's current location. Uptowners can rest easy, though, as the restaurant and dessert bar announced yesterday that D Bar's new digs will be at One City Block at 494 E. 19th Avenue on the corner of 19th and Pennsylvania streets. The new venue is slated to open this summer.

"It was very important for us to stay in Uptown," the restaurant owners say in yesterday's announcement that lists the top three improvements at the new D Bar: 1) more seating, 2) a full bar with craft beer and cocktails, and 3) an expanded dessert menu and a custom cake retail area.

Also to be expected at the new D Bar, says Zagat is an updated ambiance. "Picture a place that's less "jewel box-y" —yet no less charming... With a full cocktail bar, a dedicated dessert bar and an exhibition kitchen beneath 14-foot ceilings amid accents of glass and stainless steel, D Bar "version 2.0" will certainly be airier and more modern. But the signature color scheme of robin's egg blue and chocolate brown will make regulars feel right at home."

Between now and D Bar's summer opening, the restaurant plans to participate in Dos Casas, Women Cook, Do at the Zoo, and The Big Eat. D Bar will also be involved in coming pop-up dinners, for which it will provide information on the website and its Facebook page.
