Every year, Food & Wine Magazine names America's 10 most brilliant up-and-coming chefs and recognizes them in its June edition. The last Colorado chef to grace the cover of the magazine was Alex Seidel of Fruition in 2010. Before that, it was Lachlan Patterson of Frasca Food & Wine in 2005. Right now, the prestigious magazine asks readers who they think is the most talented new chef in America.
The only Colorado representative listed in the People's Best New Chef Southwest poll is Steve Redzikowski of Oak at Fourteenth and Acorn. Why is he amazing? "Because after starting his career at Le Cirque at age 21, he's raising the bar on the Colorado food scene with his two seasonally focused restaurants—one centered around a unique oak-fired oven and grill (Oak), the other a super-hip shared-plates spot (Acorn)," Food & Wine says.
