World of Beer Cherry Creek (660 S. Colorado Boulevard) is celebrating Mardi Gras with a very special tapping of Russian River's Pliny the Younger and an authentic Louisiana crawfish boil. Brewed in Sonoma County, California, Pliny the Younger is a very rare "triple" IPA with a 10.25% ABV. This year's recipe includes Simcoe, Warrior, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo and Tomahawk hops. Due to its very limited release and high demand, this beer will only be available to World of Beer Loyalty Members. The tapping will take place at 5 p.m.
In addition to this exclusive tapping, World of Beer will be hosting a crawfish boil on the patio (weather: 61° F). The crawfish will be sold for $5 a plate starting at 4:30 p.m.
To bring on the Mardi Gras spirit, Lil Devils (255 S Broadway) is offering $3 16oz Hurricanes and free beads with every purchase and a chance to win one or all 10 prize bags that include two $50 and $25 bar tabs (prizes awarded throughout the night). Best Mardi Gras Costume awarded at 11 p.m. Bonus: enjoy jambalaya by chef Justin McConnell.
