The flagship Walnut Room in RiNo completed a serious kitchen renovation and expansion enabling the music and pizza joint to more efficiently serve patrons and expand the food offerings.

Owner John Burr started the Walnut Room venture in 2005 with a vision to combine his rehearsal studio business, Soundstructure Studios, with a place where local musicians could relax after a rehearsal session and enjoy casual food- mostly pizza and sandwiches- as well as drinks.

This concept evolved into a full service restaurant and live music venue for fans to enjoy all sorts of local talent. After several successful years, the Walnut Room needed to expand in order keep up with the demands of guests enjoying the restaurant as well as musicians utilizing the venue.

The completed kitchen expansion, currently offering pizzas, sandwiches and salads, will allow chef Jonah Munson to eventually execute more in-depth menu items. Music fans may also notice the addition of a new bar in the music hall; the old one was removed to make room for the bigger kitchen. The intimate concert venue still has 180 person capacity and has resumed its regular calendar of events.
