Thirty Denver Chefs Help Raise $150K: Chefs Up Front

Thirty chefs, 300 guests, and countless staff and volunteers made the Chefs Up Front event on Sunday night a spectacular event that raised over $150,000 for Cooking Matters Colorado. The funds go to programs aimed to end childhood hunger. Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry campaign work on bridging the gaps between kids in need and affordable meals and cooking education.

Chefs like Jeff Osaka of Twelve, Amos Watts of Acorn, Daniel Asher of RootDown and Theo Adley of the Squeaky Bean prepared five course meals table side for guests. Dishes served ranged from rabbit loin with mushroom duxelles and wheat berry spaetzle from the Kitchen and lamb heart tartare from Beast + Bottle to olive oil poached halibut from the Populist and uni agnolotti nero from Mizuna. Bonus: a reception featuring cocktails from Denver's top bartenders preceded the event and silent and live auctions got the guests bidding on items ranging from custom aprons to luxury vacations.
