Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha; Strange Craft Beer Anniversary; Cider Rally

BOULDER— Tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha will host a live music event in its taproom. Aural Elixir, an eclectic musical experience from Jesse Maclaine, explores the healing power of music and celebrates the traditions of New Orleans jazz and classical music in modern song forms. The venue is one of five kombucha taprooms in the world, with flights and growlers also available.

LINCOLN PARK— As part of an ongoing week of fourth-anniversary events, Strange Craft Beer Company will celebrate with extended hours through the weekend, live music and other activities. The brewery will be open until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tonight at 6 p.m. Indigent Row will perform, with Gristle Gals lined up for the same time on Saturday, May 17. The Conquistadors of Nothing will follow on Sunday, May 18 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Other events include a hop candy tapping today at 3 p.m., followed by a tap takeover at World of Beer in Belmar at 5 p.m. On Saturday, May 17 the Colorado Craft Beer radio show will be broadcast from noon to 2 p.m., and on Sunday, May 18 another tap takeover will take place at Colorado Plus with three breweries total at 5 p.m.

LODO— Join Freshcraft on Saturday, May 17 for a book signing from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. "Colorado's Top Brewers" author Emily Hutto will be on hand to discuss and sign her book. There will also be a special tapping of Dry Dock Apricot Sour Blonde, as well as a feature pairing of chicken paillard with Dry Dock Amber Ale, which was mentioned in the book.

WEST DENVER— On Saturday, May 17 from 1 to 4 p.m., Colorado Cider Company will host a historic membership rally for the American Homebrewers Association. The event will feature tours of the Colorado Cider facility, samplings of the company's creations, educational info on cider making, local food trucks and cider-minded fellowship. RINO— The common bar area at the Source will serve drinks through the weekend to benefit Bridges to Prosperity. The nonprofit organization seeks to reduce global poverty because of rural isolation by teaching communities to build footbridges over rivers, with the help of professionals. The drinks from the Proper Pour will start with tiki-themed beverages tonight from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., world whiskey day on Saturday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and a brunch bar on Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
