CAPITOL HILL— The 2014 Denver Greek Festival will run all weekend at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Enjoy Greek delicacies like saganaki—a flaming brandied cheese, baklava and roasted lamb sandwiches, traditional music and dancing, and rides and games for kids. Hours are Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $5 each day, though children under 12 are free. CITY PARK— At the Friday, June 20 edition of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science's weekly Summer Nights @ the Museum series, the focus will be on a Maya-inspired tour of Central and South America from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include samplings of coffee and chocolate, presentations, access to exhibits like Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed and viewing of the Honduras vs. Ecuador World Cup match. Tickets cost $15 and are available for purchase here.
DENVER— On Saturday, June 21 Chain Reaction Brewing Company will celebrate its grand opening at 902 S. Lipan St. starting at noon. Look for 16 beers on tap—available in 10-ounce pours, tasters, flights and pints—including six flagship beers, four summer seasonals and six small-batch brews.
SLOAN'S LAKE— The Denver Sky High Rotary Club is hosting a pig roast and corn hole tournament on Saturday, June 21 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the 23rd Avenue Sculpture Studio. A $25 ticket will include the spit-roasted pork, side dishes, desserts and beverages, with proceeds benefiting the End Polio Now campaign. Entry to the corn hole tournament costs $10 per person or $15 for a two-person team. There will also be libations from a mystery beer and wine wall for a small donation. RINO— Stop by the Source on Sunday, June 22 for a screening of the new documentary "Resistance," presented by Slow Food Denver, Uji Films and Applegate. The evening kicks off with a reception at 6:30 p.m., then an introduction and viewing of the film, followed by an informal Q&A with filmmaker Michael Graziano.
