Aurora's Curtis Park Creamery II, a Mexican eatery and sister location to the Curtis Park Creamery in Denver, closed up shop for good. The closure was announced in a Facebook post from Monday, June 20:
We regret to have to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances we will be closing our Havana/Aurora location today. It was in our best interest to move on, at this point we are uncertain that we will be opening a second location.
Whatever it was that caused the 1901 South Havana location to close down is unclear, but it does seem that the place will be missed by many. The comments section of the aforementioned Facebook post is filled with an outpouring of grief from customers who are sad to see the place — and their favorite burritos — go. Those addicted to the grub will still be able to get their fix — takeout only — at the original Denver location at 30th and Champa, which was founded way back in 1969 by Lawrence and Beatrice Rodriguez.
