With all of the different creatively named pizzas to choose from in the world (How about a Fat Tommy? Or maybe a Traffic Jam?), sometimes it's nice just to get back to basics and enjoy one of the classics: good old pizza Margherita. To help you find out how much a mozzarella, tomato, and basil pie is going to run you, we assembled a list of 23 different Denver-area pizzas and their prices.
Not all pizzas are created equal, so to level the playing field and make it a little easier to compare pizzas across restaurants, we took the biggest Margherita pizza offered by each place and calculated the price by the square inch. Here's what you're looking at:
It looks like you can get the most pie for your buck at Fat Sully's Pizza. The casual eatery offers the largest pizza on the list: a 26-incher for $18.95. The offerings from Beau Jo's and Osteria Marco are a little pricier per square inch, but don't discount the quality of ingredients used, the location, and the fact that these gourmet pies only come in smaller, personal-sized portions.
Did we miss your favorite pizza pie? Drop it in the comments below, along with the price.
