Black Eye Coffee, the popular LoHi coffee shop, has added food and snacks to its offerings. Created by Charles Matthews, a chef currently working at the Kitchen Denver, the menu is approachable, yet elevated from your standard grab and go coffee shop food. The price point aims to be accessible, ranging from $8-$12. There is something for everyone on this menu and gluten and dairy free requests will be accomodated when possible.
Guests will find a variety of sandwiches, salads and side options. Chef Matthews was excited to use his skills to create a unique coffee shop menu and to execute something different from his typical high volume, seafood-forward fare of The Kitchen. He is excited to offer his creations in a casual setting in his own neighborhood.
Highlights of the menu include the shaved Colorado lamb hoagie, complemented by lemon, garlic and feta; the Poblano grilled cheese, with roasted carrots, house-made ricotta, coffee vinaigrette over greens; and the smoked mozzarella mac 'n cheese.
Something else to look forward to? The team from Black Eye is planning a second location, one where food will be front and center.
