SANTA FE ART DISTRICT – On Thursday, August 14, Imbibe is sponsoring a whiskey and donut "throwdown" on the rooftop of Battery 621. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and features many of the best donut vendors and whiskey makers in the Denver area. Experience the flavor of all the epic donut varieties Denver has to offer and wash them down with multiple varieties of locally distilled whiskey. BALLPARK — On Thursday, August 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Cook Street School of Culinary Arts is holding a Culinary Date Night class that is perfect for couples. The French-focused class includes lessons on how to prepare scallops, duck breast, and chocolate fondue. At the conclusion, students will enjoy a full meal that incorporates their created dishes. Two glasses of wine (one white and one red) come with the meal, and you can now purchase an additional bottle of wine for $29. The price is $89 per person (not per couple). More information here. AVON - Avon's new Flavors of Colorado festival runs from August 15 to 17 in Harry A. Nottingham Park. The first evening is an intimate farm-to-table charity dinner featuring two of Colorado's finest executive chefs: Chris Thompson from The Nickel and Veronica Morales of Eat + Drink. Keith Villa, Blue Moon Brewing founder and master brewer, will be on-hand to pair each dish with a hand selected craft beer from the Blue Moon portfolio of beers. On the remaining two days, there will be an outdoor festival with food and beverage tasting from over 30 of Colorado's finest chefs, restaurants, craft brewers, and craft distillers, along with live music.
