The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is underway, with Boulder and Denver gearing up for the seventh and final stage that will roll through on Sunday, August 24. In honor of the annual race, establishments are offering special items to get in the spirit.
In partnership with the Garmin-Sharp cycling team, Boulder cheese and charcuterie shop Cured is selling musette bags to spectators and fans for $20. The lightweight shoulder bags are stocked with lunch—a sandwich, drink, chips, cookie, and an apple—and are available in advance or the day of the event. Visit Cured's website for more details.
Also marking the occasion is Patxi's Pizza, which is offering a special pizza called the Fourteener. Inspired by chef and avid cyclist Patxi Azpiroz, the signature stuffed pie includes chicken breast, natural pepperoni, fresh spinach, and artichoke hearts, meant to provide power and protein. The feature is available in 10-, 12-, and 14-inch deep-dish options, as well as the slice of the day, at all three locations through August 25.
