AURORA – Aurora's debut GlobalFest will take place August 23 from noon until 10 p.m. on the big lawn in front of the municipal building. This celebration of the city's diverse ethnic communities features live all-day entertainment and art. The food court will showcase Aurora restaurants and caterers that are serving authentic Filipino, Greek, Nigerian, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Mexican and ethnic American dishes. BAKER – On August 23, the team from the recently closed Latke Love will host its very first pop-up restaurant at Denver Urban Homesteading. Chefs will be on site preparing their famous potato pancakes. Owners hope that this will be an opportunity for latke lovers to get the fix and also a chance to test the waters for a possible reopening. BALLPARK – On Saturday, August 23 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., join the culinary experts over at Cook Street for a class titled "Grilling: Southern Fare." The lesson plan includes a guide to smoking and grilling protein, veggies, and even fruit. Students will leave with a grasp on basic techniques of grilling with a southern flair.
