The Ultimate Guide to Labor Day Festivities

Near or far, small or big, there are many events to consider attending this Labor Day weekend. We rounded up a diverse 10 for you to choose from. If there are more we should all know about, please share them in the comments below.

RINO LUAU
When: Friday, August 29 from 4 to 10 p.m.
Where: The Big Wonderful, 2500 Lawrence Street
What: An island-inspired outdoor party to bid summer farewell
More info, tickets, reservations: There are full bars & $4 drinks, Rocky Mountain Showdown played on projection screen, two sand volleyball courts, Reggae band: TANAKA performing live, Hawaiian themed food & drinks, fire spinners, food trucks, hula dancers, and more. There is a $5 suggested donation for the St. Francis Center.

GOURMET ON GORE
When: Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1
Where: Vail
What: A culinary festival offering open-air tasting of world-class wine, beer, and spirits paired with food from Vail's top restaurants.
More info, tickets, reservations: Other events include a Friday tasting tour for $75 at 6 p.m., and a Bourbon & BBQ Dinner on Saturday with tickets for $65. Admission to open-air tasting is free each day, with bites and pours available to pay as you go. Visit Gourmet on Gore on for more details.

TASTE OF COLORADO
When: Friday through Monday; 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Where: Civic Center Park
What: The annual festival that brings together over fifty Denver eateries and food vendors along side different family-friendly activities, music, and more.

BARBECUE AND BEER
When: Saturday, August 30
Where: 3855 Mariposa Street
What: Diebolt Brewing is hosting a party in collaboration with two local businesses, the Bakin Bakery, a food truck, and the Big O, a new barbecue ---???.

DENVER PASSPORT CLOSING PARTY
When: Saturday, August 30 at 2 p.m.
Where: The Big Wonderful, 2500 Lawrence Street
What: A bash to say good bye to the Denver Passport until next summer.
More info, tickets, reservations: All Passport holders will receive a free beer, food and raffles. For every five passport stamps, Passport holders will receive a raffle ticket to win prizes. VIEWHOUSE GRAND OPENING
When: Friday through Sunday, various times.
Where: ViewHouse DTC, 7101 S. Clinton Street, Centennial
What: A three day series of events celebrating the grand opening of the second location of ViewHouse.
More info, tickets, reservations: Friday: The Samples will kick-off the summer band series, Music on the Green at 6:30 p.m. Saturday: Red Bull Motocross Extravaganza features Red Bull's professional motocross stunt team drivers entertaining guests with show times at 2, 5 and 7 p.m. DJ Squirt will play after dark. Sunday: Bottomless buffet brunch featuring gala-apple pancakes, twists on the classic eggs Benedict, breakfast burritos and bacon along with complimentary bottomless mimosas with the purchase of an entrée.

SIP AND LISTEN AT GOLDEN MOON
When: Every day this weekend
Where: Golden Moon Speak, 1111 Miner's Alley, Golden CO.
What: Cocktails and live music. Friday: Mikey Smith and Friends 8 to 11 p.m.; Saturday: Chance Trio 7 to 10 p.m.; Sunday: Cody Hart duo 6 to 9 p.m.

PIG ROAST AT ATTICUS
When: Sunday at dinner time, either 5 or 6 p.m.
Where: Atticus, 1115 E Evans Avenue
What: A 70-pound Colorado pig will roast for three days before being served family-style with all the fixings and traditional Cuban side dishes.
More info, tickets, reservations: Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for kids, with a choice between seating at 5 or 6 p.m. For reservations, call 720.459.8273.

LABOR DAY PICNIC AT LOLA
When: Monday, from noon to 9 p.m.
Where: 1575 Boulder Street
What: A Mexican-inspired pig roast and barbecue to celebrate Labor Day. Happy hour drink prices all day, picnic plates, tacos, and a dessert menu will be offered.
More info, tickets, reservations: For the picnic plates, expect beef ribs barbacoa, pollo asada with chili rojo, smoked chicken wings, pork shoulder. ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTER FESTIVAL & BBQ
When: Monday, September 1 at 5 p.m.
Where: Ajax Tavern, 685 East Durant Avenue in Aspen
What: A third-annual event featuring all-you-can-eat-and-drink oysters, buffalo Rocky Mountain oysters, beers from Roaring Fork Brewery, and Infinite Monkey Theorem wines.
