Peruvian restaurant Taita used to occupy real estate near Colfax Avenue and Marion Street, and that space is now home to Las Margs, which opened just over three weeks ago. Owner Zac Parker had previously spent 20 years with the company that owned Las Margaritas at 17th Avenue and Downing Street, and has refreshed the Mexican food concept in this latest iteration.

Though some recipes—like chiles rellenos and enchiladas with red sauce made from Las Cruces, New Mexico chiles—have carried over, the menu has overall been simplified yet modernized, with a focus on street-style tacos. Options like pork adovada and chicken tinga come in at under $4 each. Las Margs is also offering breakfast burritos from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. every day except Mondays.

Margaritas are naturally a staple on the beverage menu, and you'll find plenty of drink specials throughout the week. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with $3 house margs, $2 drafts, and $3 well drinks. Late night from 10 p.m. to close it's two-for-one on all drinks except bottled beer, and with football season upon us Monday Mania is in effect, which features $3 wells and house margaritas, $2 drafts, and half-off shots of any tequila in the bar all day long.

Las Margs is located at 1521 Marion St. and is open Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday from 3 p.m. to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Breakfast burritos are served until 2 p.m. and the regular menu starts at 11 a.m., except for Mondays.
