The best sommelier in the country, according to Wine Enthusiast, is Bobby Stuckeyof Frasca Food and Wine. This, of course, does not come as a surprise to anyone familiar with the Boulder restaurant. In 2013, Frasca Food and Wine won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service, having been nominated for the prestigious national award for three years in a row prior to the win.
A master sommelier, Stuckey "still walks the dining room nightly to offer enthusiastic recommendations and share his passion for wine with guests. This dedication is why the restaurant was nominated for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service from 2010-12, winning the prestigious prize in 2013," Wine Enthusiast noted. On Monday January 26, the owner of the 10 year old restaurant will be honored at the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards Gala, held at the New York Public Library in New York City.
