Tater Tots are well-known and well liked among the younger dining community, but with the perfect combination of ingredients and toppings these grade school staples are sure to attract all ages.

On Diners, Drive-Ins & DivesHighland Tavern is featured for its house-made tater tot. Highland Tavern sticks with a classic variation of the tot; parsley cooked potatoes, salt, garlic, onion, cayenne pepper, and egg - to keep their form - before dropping them in oil to fry to their crispy excellence. Fieri dubs them as the most "tot-alistic" and one of the best tots he’s ever tasted.

Ballpark neighborhood’s Trillium offers a truffled tater tot accompanied with a hollandaise dipping sauce. This truffled tot can only be enjoyed during Trillium’s happy hour, Tuesday thru Sunday 5 to 7 p.m. So, make sure to stop in at the right time to enjoy the tasty treat.

The Über Sausage houses sweet and savory tots in on the hot East Colfax stretch. From Italian spice with parmesan to cinnamon and sugar, and even malt vinegar tots, Uber Sausage mixes it up with whatever your heart desires. Tots can also be topped with a variety of combinations: crema fresca, queso and mango pico de gallo; green chile and cheese; cheese, bacon and creme fresca; berry chipotle sauce; creamy chipotle sauce and bacon; or Sriracha aioli.

OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award winner Harman’s Eat and Drink cooks up a celery root and potato tater tot. The appetizer is paired with chili aioli and pickled celery and can be enjoyed for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

The Horseshoe Lounge covers all the tot bases offering seven variations of the snack. From a classic tater tot to ones with a kick The Horseshoe Lounge will satisfy with any flavor. The green chili tots are covered in vegetarian green chili, cheddar cheese, and sour cream while its Naughty Tots incorporate bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños.

Capitol Hill's Wyman's No. 5 offers two options for the tot eaters enjoyment. Cheesy Bacon Tots come topped with pico de gallo, jalapeño cheese sauce, and a side of sour cream. The other option for tots comes with smokies and a side of barbecue sauce. These crispy confections can be enjoyed until 2 a.m. seven days a week.

A sit-down eatery isn't the only place to find a decent tot in Denver. Local food truck El Toro The Tot specializes in a cheesy tot. One variation stuffed with aged cheddar, Manchegeo and mozzarella cheeses, while the Toro Tots are stuffed with cheddar cheese and bacon. El Toro The Tot specialties also include burgers, truffle fries, and desserts. Find out daily location details here.
