When Wash Park's Session Kitchen announced it would be closing in July, it left a bit of a vacuum on Old South Pearl Street. Westword just released the news that a variation on Denver-based Mexican restaurant chain, Que Bueno!, will be quite possibly filling that void.
Breckenridge-Wynkoop took over the space at 1518 South Pearl Street from the Kizaki brothers (owners of Izakaya Den, Sushi Den, and the newly reopened Ototo) in 2013 to open Session Kitchen. The former brewpub building went on the market in July and has now found a buyer. Rod Tafoya, owner of many Denver International Airport concessions, hopes to plant a version of his fast-casual Mexican concept, Que Bueno!, in the former Session building. Tafoya and the folks behind the Mexican eatery are ecstatic to move forward with proceedings and hopefully be moving into the neighborhood soon.
