Quaint and reminiscent of a European cafe, Mell's Cheese is now open at 3000 Zuni Street. Named after owner Paula Dick's grandfather, the LoHi spot is housed in a space dominated by dark woods and exposed brick walls, with decor accents that include antique doors and windows and various art pieces.
On the menu, there are a variety of cheese and salumi boards, sandwiches, salads and other small dishes like hummus or baked goat cheese. Some twenty wines are available by the glass with another forty or so available by the bottle. A variety of beers and ciders, from Colorado and beyond, complete the beverage selection. There is also a to-go option for a wide variety of cheeses, salamis, and other accoutrements like crackers and olives.
A grand opening celebration is taking place today, October 22.
Mell's Cheese is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
