The Denver music and bar communities have lost a real gem last weekend when Gary Lee Bomar passed away. Plans to honor Bomar's memory in two ways have been announced.
Today, Wednesday October 7 at 11 a.m., a funeral procession will take the owner of Gary Lee's Motor Club & Grub by hearse on his last trip to South Broadway. Friends of the bar owner urge those close to him to "line the streets" and bring any "hotrod, classic car, ratrod, basically any thing cool on wheels."
On Friday, October 9, at 6 p.m., there will be a memorial service held at the bar located at 176 South Broadway. "Come to the bar, have drinks and share a story about Gary. Our staff is hurting but we know how important it is to be open for all of you," said a Facebook post on the bar's page.
