On Wednesday, October 7 around 11 a.m., Gary Lee Bomar of Gary Lee's Motor Club & Grub, took his last trip on South Broadway to the sound of loud motorcycle and car engines. The beloved bar and music venue owner passed away on Sunday after an accident that happened last week while he was vacationing in Mexico. The community that he touched for many years in Denver showed up yesterday to pay its respects.
On Friday, October 9, starting at 6 p.m., the bar bearing Bomar's name is hosting a celebration of his life open to the community. The gathering will be on "until until the kegs (and our eyes) run dry," said a Facebook post.
