Lower48 Kitchen may have shuttered at 2020 Lawrence St., but that doesn't mean the space is completely defunct. A variety of eclectic cooking events is scheduled to take place in the now-open space, like the Ramen Throw Down that transpired over the weekend.
The Throw Down on Sunday invited local Denver chefs and ramen experts to bring their A games in the battle for the best bowl. Among the featured chefs were Tommy Lee of Uncle, Jeff Osaka of Osaka Ramen, Ryan Gorby of Cho77, Yamaguchi Katsuhisa of Sushi Den and Wasabi, Klaus Krebs of Isle of Capri Casino, and Eric Robbins of Uncorked Kitchen. Uncle's Tommy Lee took the winning spot for "Best Bowl" and Yamaguchi Katsuhisa was awarded "People's Choice."
The event sold out quickly, and ramen enthusiasts' tickets benefited Work Options for Women (WOW).
