Cured Opens Second Location In Boulder on Wednesday

Only two more days until grab-and-go gourmet sandwiches and a shared space with a boutique floral shop on the West side of Pearl Street.

Cured, the beloved specialty foods store that shares a space with Boxcar Coffee, opens the doors of its second location on the West end of downtown Boulder at 2019 10th Street. Owners Will and Coral Frischkorn found the space through Cedar & Hyde and share a space with Fawn's Leap, a boutique floral shop which creates a sting of curated makers and mercantile shops right off Pearl Street, across from PMG and Sushi Tora.

After a growing demand for Cured's gourmet sandwiches and prepared food, the Frischkorns began looking to expand to the West end of Pearl Street, where more businesses reside. The intimate 460 square-foot space will host the limited, yet carefully curated favorite items that reside at the flagship East Pearl shop like gourmet chocolates, dried pasta, anchovies, bitters, and more. It may not be as much of a foodie hub as the East location, but that is only because of a strong focus on more prepared foods for grab-and-go lunch and dinner.

The Cured West location will always have five sandwiches available: a sweet, a savory, a grilled cheese, a vegetarian option, and the infamous Spicy Frenchman sandwich (brie, butter, ham, and fig compote) will be available everyday, only at this location. The rotating gourmet sandwiches come from a lengthy list of 41 that they've built up overtime.

A fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich is in the works and will include a house-made marcona almond butter and strawberry jam from the Western Slope on brioche bread.

There will always be two rotating soups and a bone broth bar supplied by Western Daughters. Unlike the East Pearl location, there will be no wine and the cheese and salumi selection will be more limited. Some local ice cream, craft sodas, and other non-alcoholic beverages will be offered.

With this second location, the Frischkorns now employee 17 people between both Cured stores.

Cured West will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
