Sean Kelly's Desmond Opens in Park Hill

The acclaimed chef returns to the dining scene.

A Denver culinary icon returns to the scene with his newest restaurant, Desmond, which quietly opened last night. Chef Sean Kelly, a New Jersey native, rose to stardom in Denver as opening chef for Barolo Grill. He continued to shine with the opening of his own Aubergine Cafe, followed by Biscuit, Clair de Lune, and finally, Something Else. After taking a nine year break from cooking (Kelly co-owned a steak house until it's close last year), Kelly is excited to return with Desmond, which has a relaxed, neighborhood type feel.

The food menu shows off Kelly's strength, focusing on small plates rather than entrees and bringing Mediterranean flair into the mix. Guests will find dishes like the baba gnash with yoghurt and pita and the warm squid and white bean salad. Other options include the French onion tart with petite salad, fennel-stewed mussels with aioli, and potted salmon with radishes and toast. The bar features cocktails as well as beers and wine. The restaurant is open for dinner only Tuesdays through Saturday.
