New Saigon, the popular Vietnamese restaurant on Federal Boulevard, is going back to basics, Westword reported. Owned and operated by couple Thai Nguyen and Ha Pham for over 30 years, the restaurant was sold early last year to a new owner. Nguyen and Pham soon realized they could not say goodbye to their spot and wanted to buy the restaurant back. Thankfully, the new owner was willing to return the New Saigon to its founders.
Since the couple regained possession of the restaurant, they have taken time to implement a number of changes and updates to the interior and menu. Pham, New Saigon's head chef, updated the menu with new additions from Vietnam while Nguyen took to operating the restaurant by day and renovating the dining room by night.
