Less than a month ago, the long-time owners of the beloved purveyor of Southern comfort food, Tom's Home Cookin', put the property on the market, allegedly just to gauge how much property values had risen in Five Points. Well, they must have liked what they saw numbers-wise.
Tom's will be greatly missed — it was nothing short of legendary. From the lines that spanned blocks, to the smells wafting up Welton Street, Tom's deeply rooted its presence in the Five Points neighborhood and in our hearts with its phenomenal fried chicken, meatloaf, collards, sweet tea and so much more. It was the gold standard for comfort food in Denver, and its closure leaves a great void.
