Funky Buddha, the old-time bar and music venue located at 776 Lincoln, has closed and will move to a new location, Westword reported. The popular nightclub is planning to reopen in early 2016 in a much smaller space at 1033 Broadway.
In the past, Funky Buddha has been known by Denverites as not only a venue with no cover charge, but for hosting a bevvy of entertainment, from DJs to comedians. The new location is about four times smaller than the original, so shows will be scaled down considerably. In addition, there will be no kitchen at the new venue, which is disappointing news for fans of the old timer $5 snack menu.
The old space on Lincoln will be occupied by Lincoln Street Station. We will share details on this new venture as they become available.
