10 Culinary Events in February: Friulian Dinner at Frasca, Rhone Wave, Battle Bird

PORK & BEER DINNER
When: February 3, 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Post Brewing Company, 105 West Emma Street, Lafayette
What:  The dinner will feature pork cooked up by sous chef Jimmy Giesler, Post Brewing's Anniversary IPA and the new Oatmeal Stout. The dinner will include three courses; a pork terrine paired with house pickles and flatbread; rotisserie cauliflower in a pork butter and apricot mustard; and slow roasted porchetta with plums and a winter salad. Each course is paired with a Post Brewing Company exclusive.

22ND ANNUAL STOUT MONTH
When: February, all month
Where: All five Mountain Sun Pubs
WhatThis February marks the 22nd annual Stout Month for all five Mountain Sun pubs. Mountain and Southern Sun Pubs & Breweries and Under the Sun Eatery and Taphouse in Boulder, Vine Street Pub and Brewery in Denver, and Mountain Sun’s newest, Longs Peak Pub and Taphouse in Longmont will participate in Stout Month. During the month of February, most of Mountain Sun pubs’ taps will feature Colorado versions of the dark ale. Once a year the Mountain Sun pubs give patrons and beer connoisseurs the opportunity to enjoy the best stouts on tap. Be sure to get there ASAP because - unfortunately- the beer isn't endless. A variety of Mountain Sun house stouts will be featured, including Raspberry Chipotle Stout - winner of this year's Stout Homebew Competition. There will also be a selection of Colorado guest stouts available.

BEER DINNER
When: February 9 at 6 p.m.
Where: Pepsi Center, 1000 Chopper Circle
What: Odell Brewing Co. is hosting a beer dinner with the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. Pilot brewmaster, Brent Cordel, from Odell Brewing Co. will be at the event. Each ticket includes a four course dinner, beer tasting and game ticket located club level seating.

ATTICUS TURNS ONE
When: February 10 at 7 p.m.
Where: Atticus, 1135 East Evans Avenue
What: To celebrate its first anniversary, the restaurant is hosting a four-course dinner with optional wine pairings. The dinner costs $60 per person, with an additional $30 for wine pairings.

PIEDMONT DINNER AT PMG
When: Wednesday, February 11 at 6 p.m.
Where: PMG, 2018 10th Street, Boulder
What: PMG and Natural Wine Company are hosting a five-course, prix fixe dinner with a selection of Piemontese food and wine.

BARLEY AND HOPS FOR BEER LOVERS
When: February 14, reservations starting at 4 p.m.
Where: BRU Handbuilt Ales & Eats, 5290 Arapahoe, Boulder
What:  A special Valentine's Day dinner for the beer lover. Each course incorporates barley and hops in the eats and pairs it with one of brewer Ian Clark's ales. Highlights from the evening include the wood-roasted oyster with cascade smoked chorizo and malt aioli paired with the Solus Patersbier handbuilt with bitter orange and coriander.

FAT TUESDAY SAZERAC BARREL RELEASE PARTY AT THE NICKEL
When: February 17, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: The Nickel, 1100 14th Street
What: The Nickel is hosting a Mardi Gras party to release Sazerac - a special barrel-aged whiskey. Sazerac is made with spirits sourced from 10th Mountain Whiskey and Spirit Company in Vail and Boudin Blanc and Andouille Sausage from Denver's Western Daughters butcher.

LA SUBIDA FRIULIAN DINNER AT FRASCA FOOD AND WINE
When: February 18
Where: Frasca Food and Wine, 1738 Pearl Street, Boulder
What:  A special dinner with the Tanja and Mitja Sirk of La Subida, one of Friuli's most influential restaurants. La Subida remains one of the great continuing inspirations for Frasca. Along with the Sirks, three Friulano winemakers will be welcomed - Damiano Meroi, Igor Erzetic and Marta Venica.

BATTLE BIRD
When: February 18 at 7 p.m.
Where: Harman's Eat and Drink, 2900 East 2nd Avenue
What: Battle of the Beast chefs return to cook birds five different ways, pairing each dish with a beverage. The event features five courses of poultry, complemented with a beer, wine or cocktail. Green curry chicken with jasmine rice, paired with Porto coco is among the dishes for the night.

RHÔNE WAVE
When: February 23

What:  Special wine dinner featuring six West Coast winemakers showcasing wines made rhône style. The dinner includes a three course meal with appetizer - all paired with a featured wine. Tickets are $85/person, not including taxes and gratuity.
