Kitchen Table Cafe chef Dave Kilroy marches to the beat of his own drum - serving comfort food, from mac 'n cheese to pot pie, Westword says. Kilroy, who closes up shop once he has run out of ingredients for the day, thanks his family for "instilling good food values" in him. Food critic Gretchen Kurtz was unimpressed with the vegetarian pot pie, which lacked vegetables and came out unpleasantly runny. She did, however, enjoy the sloppy joes, burnt ends, and the peanut butter-chocolate pie.

South Broadway's Leña has friendly staff and a good ambiance, according to Denver Post critic William Porter. The Latin American restaurant features cuisine from a handful of countries. The Tacos barbacoa de cabra are not to be passed up and the drink menu is something to check out. Porter says Leña is the place for a pan-Latin dish.
