With the release of its Best New Restaurants list, 5280 Magazine reflected on what is still trending in the food world and compiled a list of things to do away with. What's on the chopping block? Kale - sautéed, juiced, in salads or baked goods - no matter what form; ampersands (or their plus sign sister); hybrid foods (like the ramen burger), candy in crafted cocktails, and pricey mac 'n cheese in every variety.
What else is trending that may be here to stay - at least for a while? Fresh pressed juices in cocktails, specialized charcuterie programs, little markets inside restaurants, and cold brewed coffees.
