The Boulder Public Library has announced that its new addition, Seeds Library Cafe, will open on Monday, April 27 at 9 a.m. Located at 1001 Arapahoe Avenue, the cafe will host a private grand opening celebration from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.on Friday, April 24 on the bridge of the main branch of the Boulder Public Library where coffee and a light breakfast will be served to guests.
The cafe is the result of a collaboration between the Library and the Boulder County Farmers Markets, with a commitment to spending 75% of food costs locally. The farm-to-table eatery will serve a seasonal and locally roasted coffee menu, as well as freshly made sandwiches, salads, pastries, and soups made by the staff at Bridge House Community Table.
Spearheading the new coffee shop is general manager Howard Caplan, the former owner of Brillig Works Bakery. Also joining the Seeds team is Matthew Kay of Silver Canyon Coffee, a local and fair trade coffee roastery in North Boulder that will supply Seeds.
Seeds Library Cafe will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m.
