Melissa Yanc's pastry dreams have become reality with the official opening of La Fillette; the first retail bakery for her pastry production business, Sugar Vision. Just off of Colorado Boulevard at 4416 E 8th Avenue, La Fillette began infiltrating the neighboring tailor shop and liquor store with the smell of its baked goods when it opened on Saturday, May 16.
Yanc, an experienced chef and baker and her sous baker, Keturah Fleming, provide customers with a variety of items baked every morning. There are sweet and savory croissants, macarons in exotic flavors like lavender-lemon, and a petite selection of teas and coffee offered at the counter. Don't expect the same flavors and ingredients each day as the baking duo likes to change it up.
La Fillette, which is French for "little girl," is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
