The moment you walk into Sunnyside's new Big Country, all of your senses are stimulated. There are authentic bluegrass beats that complement the country trinkets that decorate the casual space and give the sweet barbecue aroma an appropriate context.
The brick and mortar space at 4044 Tejon Street offers a basic menu of pulled pork, brisket, meatloaf, King-chicken-casserole, and burnt ends on a couple of days a week. Choose your meat and complement it with classic sides like cole slaw, mashed potatoes, baked beans, collard greens, and mac and cheese.
Big Country started as a food truck, which will still have a presence at Denver First Fridays and a spot in front of Mile High Spirits. While the food truck's hours differ weekly, Big Country at Tejon will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to close.
