The lawsuit that had been jeopardizing the future of the Denver Cat Company over a cat bite has been dismissed, thanks to the reactions and responses of the public to the situation. The small business posted a Facebook status late last week, informing supporters that "the plaintiff dismissed that lawsuit in response to the public outcry."

Faced with a lawsuit, the feline cafe had started a GoFundMe page to raise money to defend the legal action. Owner Sana Hamelin raised just under $4,000 as a backup fund to support the Denver Cat Company if it received a major financial blow from the lawsuit.

Denver's only cat cafe is open Tuesday through Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
