Opening Alert: Osaka Ramen Started Serving in RiNo

The shoyu ramen is so good, the wait was worth it.

It's been a long time coming: Osaka Ramen opened officially last night in the RiNo neighborhood. The casual restaurant, helmed by chef Jeff Osaka who closed his first restaurant Twelve last summer, is located at 2601 Walnut Street. Dinner will be served Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

On the menu, guests will find five ramen styles: shio (chicken broth); shoyu (chicken broth and soy sauce); tonkotsu (pork and chicken broth); spicy miso (pork and chicken broth); and vegetable. Soft-cooked custardy eggs are found in each of the bowls. Beyond the ramen, the subterranean eatery offers a selection of bento boxes, and dishes like the bacon-fried rice, kara age chicken, and onigiri with things like house-made spam. There is dessert and there are plenty of drinks. Bonus: Valet parking makes life easier in this busy neighborhood.
